For the past few days we have been in contact with Hope in Bulgaria about a teenaged mum and her newborn daughter. The mum and daughter are one of the families that live in the poorest area of Nadezhda, that is next to the rubbish dump. In the recent days, the newborn has been taken into hospital with breathing problems. Hope in Bulgaria told us that the mum needed a breast pump so she doesn’t lose her milk, whilst the baby is receiving medical attention.
We brought her the pump, as well as made a bag of clothes to keep her daughter warm this winter. Yesterday Hope in Bulgaria went to the mum’s house with the needed items. They spent some time with her going through the clothes together and teaching this new mum how to use the pump.
