For the past few days, we have been in contact with Hope in Bulgaria about a teenaged mum and her newborn daughter. The mum and daughter are one of the families that live in the poorest area of Nadezhda, next to the rubbish dump. In recent days, the newborn has been taken into the hospital with breathing problems. Hope in Bulgaria told us that the mum needed a breast pump so she doesn’t lose her milk while the baby is receiving medical attention.
We brought her the pump, as well as put together a bag of clothes to keep her daughter warm this winter. Yesterday, Hope in Bulgaria went to the mum’s house with the needed items. They spent some time with her, going through the clothes together and teaching this new mum how to use the pump.
