Kazanlak Care Home at Christmas

Today (22.12.2025), we visited a care home in Kazanlak. This was the first time we were able to bring individual Christmas hampers for each of the forty-five residents. Each hamper included a warm blanket, soft gloves, a bar of soap, tissues, and a candy cane, along with shared gifts of puzzles, dominoes, and a poetry book.

When we arrived, the residents were gathered together in the community area, waiting to welcome us. Steve was invited to say a few words, and he shared this message: “Merry Christmas. We are here today because you are valuable and not forgotten. God loves you, and we bless you with peace and joy.”

We then handed out the hampers, which everyone enjoyed opening. It was lovely to see residents trying on their new blankets and gloves, and the smiles grew even bigger when they discovered the candy canes. They were so grateful! Many went out of their way to say thank you both in Bulgarian and English. Just before we left, the residents surprised us by singing Bulgarian Christmas carols. It was so lovely to hear!

We want to say a big thank you to everyone who either bought a Christmas Hamper and/or a blanket! Your generosity made this visit possible.
