On Monday (06.05.24) we teamed up with Hope In Bulgaria, we set out with a plan to bless the lives of those living in Nadezhda. Our starting point was to distribute nappies/diapers and sanitary products supplied because of our online store, Shop For Others. We began the day by visiting the poorest end of Nadezhda, an area near the dumpsite where families reside and newborns are brought home to be raised. In such areas, essential supplies like nappies and sanitary products are considered a luxury.
As we arrived at the poorest end of Nadezhda, one of the mothers welcomed us to use her one-room house as a distribution point. Then, the mothers in the area began lining up outside, waiting for their turn to come in and receive the nappies for their babies and the women’s products for themselves. We have blurred the faces of the women receiving their products out of respect for them and their culture.
As the nappies were being given out, we were also able to pray for each baby that came in.
After giving out the supplies, we walked over to Buba K’s house with a few jars of food for her. While there, we were able to pray for her and pray in agreement with her own prayers for many different things.
As we stood outside her house, one of her sons was sitting on her wall. This son’s life had been taken over by an addiction and the need to feed it. We asked him if he wanted prayer and wanted to surrender everything to Jesus by giving his life to Him. He instantly jumped down from where he was and came over, saying, “Yes!” It was so beautiful watching this man give his life to Jesus and witnessing the instant change that occurred in his whole demeanor. The only way to describe it is that he looked lighter, and his face looked brighter!
His father was getting teary seeing his son giving his life to Jesus. Soon after, the father walked up to Steve, asking if he too could give Jesus all addictions in his life.
