In the recent weeks, we have been working with a member of staff from the local school. This lady is a mediator between the school and the Roma people. As part of her job, the member of staff needed to visit this family from one of the poorest areas of Kazanluk. This one family lives in one room house with the ultimate bear minimum in it. The recently single mum is expecting her seventh child, while at the same time battling against poverty to feed and clothe her other six children.
The member of staff told us how this family doesn’t even have blankets for the six children, plus many other items. From there we were able to work with the member of staff to find out what they were desperately needing at that time. A few days later, a big bag filled with the blankets needed plus clothes and some hygiene products was taken to the family’s home.
