On Saturday and Sunday (11.01.25 & 12.01.25), we went to Nadezhda, Sliven, to work alongside Hope in Bulgaria for the weekend.
Day 1 In Nadezhda…
We arrived just in time as the heavy snow started to fall, which seemed like perfect timing since we had brought many handmade woolly hats for the children. It was such a sweet sight to see so many children running around, smiling with warm hats on as they played in the snow in the dump area of Nadezhda, where they live
As part of our agenda for day one, we also brought winter clothes for the ladies. Many of the women arrived to take the warm clothes, which was a blessing for them as the winter temperatures drop below freezing.
At the end of day one, we visited Buba K to give her an alpaca shawl, knowing it would keep her warm this winter. While we were there, we were also able to pray for her knees to be healed.
Day 2 In Nadezhda…
On our second day, we went to the Alley, a new area in Nadezhda where Hope in Bulgaria has started to reach out to the people. In the alley, there are many children, so we took our bags of children’s clothes to give to them. We then went on to hand out bags of baby clothes and nappies to the babies living in the dump area.
While we were handing out clothes, we went into a house where we prayed for a little boy who has a condition affecting his bones. This boy is around 10 years old but the size of a 5-year-old. Steve shared his own testimony with the boy about how, when he was a child, God grew his leg, which had been noticeably shorter than the other. Steve prayed that God would do the same for the little boy and help him grow into a big, strong man. We were then asked to pray for a young lady in the house who has some kind of tumor in her stomach. Steve prayed that the tumor would dissolve and die. I (Adonna) also prayed for the lady, that all fear and worry would leave her and that she would experience the peace of God.
